My adventures in the slot car world continue with more HO scale fun!

Lots of fun seeing the teams showing up from all over the USA each year; some teams changing up their lineups, others running with the same guys. It's all good spirited fun. Our Sacramento team was hoping Mark Owyang, pictured below, would join our group. But, since he was already spoken for by Santa Cruz, we brought "Mark II" to the race. The room was filled with laughter during the introductions when he appeared. Mark II even picked our draw number! Mark took it all in stride and proceeded to beat our team when we met at the Black Table. All in good fun!

Here's my team, Team Sacramento. Good guys and great times.

The Green Track awaits until next year. I had one very enjoyable win in one heat against my friend Brad Bowman on this track. I was in the Yellow and Brad was in Orange. It was great. So much fun. And it proves that rule that on any given track, you just might take a win like I did. Overall I only had two memorable 1st place wins all day. And I still left smiling ear to ear. It's that much fun.

Here's me (with goofy grin as I was caught mid-sentence to my friend Marty who was taking the picture) with my friend Alan VanArtsdalen from the St. Louis team. Just great people from all walks of life. This is what racing is all about.

For most folks, this is the only thing you will take back from the Fray. But it represents far more. For me it's a way to remember all the good people I have met and had the honor to race against. I can't wait to go back next year.

A lonely highway in these parts at this time of year. The drive home is nice way to unwind from a long day of intense focus. The only problem is sometimes you think you are in a Fray car instead of your real car. Stay safe!

A perfect ending to a great long weekend at the Fray. Sunrise over the Redwood Forest.
