I had to stop the scenery to allow for installation of timing hardware. I picked about the only area on my track that
was wide enough. I simply placed the skill saw on the pre-marked lines and hoped for the best. The nice thing is that
the thickness of the copper will help bridge the gap once it is wrapped around the edges of each side. It will also
allow for the power tap. I will use screws to carefully align the "manhole" back into place. I have discovered that slot
cars are rather forgiving on what they need for a slot.

Also, notice my initial attempts at buildings. I am using ideas from other tracks on the internet. I plan to "stucco" the
homes with plaster cloth. I will cut out the windows and doors before I apply the plaster cloth . Some form of
roofing material will be used; either pasta or the middle section of cardboard.

I have now finished painting the roadway and landscaping (except for the houses). Time to lay some copper and fire it up.
I tested the track with a 9volt battery attached to a slot car chassis. There should be ample places to powerslide
according to my tests with the sponge-tired Parma car.
